As we have already written, the design of the new supercar by Gumpert was made by Touring Superlegga studio. We should notice that the Tornante isn’t absolutely new – studying the sketches it becomes clear that the body structure has remained the same. So, the Italians had to work to certain specified limits: change some surfaces and details without touching any proportions.

To keep the Gumpert’s style recognizable the designers used as an initial starting point the side panels of the current Gumpert Apollo, the design of which is created by straight lines crossing with 90 degree angle. The shape of all air inlets is simply functional: plain rectangles, no ‘smiles’ or ‘grinning features’. The rectangular theme is enveloped in the design wherever possible. The lighting is understated and functional, but still it looks quite modern. Look at the rear lights: flat LED panels with modern configuration and without any ‘SFX’.
