The restyled BMW 1 Series – Coupe and Convertible - are going to honour Detroit with their presence. In addition to this couple a brand new 1 M Series Coupe will be presented.
The renewal changes are minimal. As usual, the restyling brought new lighting – the front now has dark insets-brows, and the back lights are L-shaped. The front bumpers has two types: those on the current version of the car, and another one with new air intakes along the edges – for better aerodynamics, and for less air swirling in the front wheelarchs.
These cuts are called by the authors “air curtains” and belong to Efficient Dynamics program – BMW’s program of fuel saving, by which the both cars are supplied with regenerative brakes, Start-Stop function, and gear shift indicator.
The interiors have been kept almost the same – some possible colours are added; and also sports steering wheel with understeer control switches (just like the M-series has) are optional. Chrome trim of the devices and climate control block is also noticeable.
Finally, there are no technical innovations at all. The BMW 1 Series Coupe and Convertible will be on sale in the near future.
